Village Hall

2018 has started off with a very expensive improvement to the Hall grounds. The holes in the car park were going to be repaired but
after inspection it was noted how many fine cracks were appearing so we decided to get the whole car park re-surfaced with tarmac and it
certainly looks better and hopefully there’ll be less wet feet through standing in puddles.

We continue with our ‘nearly’ monthly coffee mornings, the next one being 17th March. We have bacon/ sausage/ tomato/ mushroom
and/ or egg butties for sale. In fact if you are very hungry you can have it as a breakfast. There are also toasted teacakes if you have a
sweeter tooth. There is a small cake stall which includes as well as cakes, scones, fruit pies, some savoury snacks e.g. sausage rolls, quiche.
These are all home made and generally sell very fast so you have to be there early. Times are 9.30am until 11.30am (or when the
last customer leaves, we don’t throw people out!) and takes place in the Reading Room. I forgot to mention the bookstall, second hand but cheap.
There is a huge selection. Oh, and a raffle.

We have Zumba on a Monday evening, Pilates on Tuesday morning, Wawne Lunch on a Wednesday every 2 months, Cake Club on the

first Thursday of the month, Gentle Exercise Class on a Thursday morning, and Aspire Children’s Dance Class on a Saturday morning. Of course,

one of our main stays is the Bowls Club who are in the Hall on Tuesday evening (for matches), Friday morning, and Sunday morning. God bless them.

Parking is an occasional problem, if only common sense & road safety could take over priority from not wanting to walk more than 5 yards!

We were wondering if anyone would like an evening with a quiz night, or beetle drive or some such thing. Let us know if you would,
this would be in warmer weather, don’t want snow or ice on the sloping footpaths.
